MEET THE PRINCIPALS

Principal Emily Pearson

Emily Pearson, principal

Welcome to Churchill | Hoover Elementary School!

I have been in Rochester Public Schools since 2017 and have served as an instructional coach, assistant principal, and principal. Literacy is my passion area, and I have my K-12 reading license. I also earned an Educational Specialist Degree in Administration, a K-12 Principal's license, and a Master's in Teaching and Learning. I started my career as a middle school language arts teacher, but I love working now in early childhood and elementary education.

Our Husky community is warm and welcoming. We strive to be a place where everyone belongs. This includes staff, students, and families!

Our building goals were created by our leadership team and aligned with the district's strategic plan. We are focusing on three areas: literacy, deeper learning for all students, and engaging families. My goal for the year is to continue strengthening our sense of belonging and support the amazing educators working here.

Assistant Principal Charlene Hasz

I started my education career as a K-12 vocal and classroom music teacher in 1992 in South Dakota. After five years of teaching in South Dakota, my husband and I moved back to my home state of Minnesota.  I stayed home for a few years with our two children and began teaching elementary music at RPS when our family moved to the area in 2004. While teaching in the district, I received my Master's Degree in Teaching and Learning and my K-12 Principal's License from St. Mary's University.

Our Churchill | Hoover | Hoover ELS  Husky community is warm and welcoming. We strive to be a place where everyone feels like they belong. This includes staff, students, and families!

Our building goals were created by our leadership team and aligned with the district's strategic plan. We are focusing on two areas: literacy and increasing social awareness skills. My personal goal for the year, along with Mrs. Pearson, is to continue strengthening our sense of belonging and support the amazing educators working here.
